MILWAUKEE – “Win tonight” is always going to be atop Pat Murphy’s daily to-do list. But as Jacob Misiorowski took the mound on Monday for the first time after a 13-day extended All-Star break, the Brewers’ manager and his coaches also had a longer-term idea in the back of their minds. Win it all. Misiorowski is key to the Brewers’ World Series hopes, and they have some things planned to keep their 6-foot-7, 24-year-old ace in top form the rest of the way, beginning with Monday’s truncated, four-inning, 65-pitch outing in an 8-3 win over the Mets and old friend Freddy Peralta at American Family Field. “I feel like I was right in the spot I need to be to get ready for the second half,” Misiorowski said. • Brewers unveil new mural on anniversary of Aaron's final HR, with wife Billye present The fans greeted Peralta and Mets closer Devin Williams warmly during pregame introductions, but Brewers hitters showed no mercy once Peralta took the mound. Cooper Pratt hit his first Major League home run in the second inning, Andrew Vaughn hit a two-run homer in the third and, after the Crew chased Peralta in the sixth, Joey Ortiz smacked a three-run shot to complete Peralta’s messy pitching line: 5 1/3 innings, eight hits, seven runs.
